T3 UFH Control Sets

Emmeti UK offers a wide range of manifolds for underfloor heating applications catering for both residential and light commercial applications, in 1” and 1¼” sizes. To match this range of manifolds, Emmeti have introduced a new range of four control sets  designed to  provide a range of fixed and variable temperature solutions to meet each customers’ requirements. Each control set includes a mixing valve, circulating pump, built-in temperature gauge, mounting bracket and swivel joints for connection to the manifold assembly. We offer a solution, from a simple non electrical temperature management option to a full weather compensator package.

These pre-packaged T3 control sets make the choice easier, and allow you to make your purchase more simple, involving less risk and less administration. The Pack design means all four controls are interchangeable – if you need to change an element, you only replace this part, minimising heart ache, cost and downtime.
The modular approach allows you to quickly and easily grasp what is the best technical solution for you in what may be a complex set of variables.

In order to provide water at the right temperature for underfloor heating, a mixing valve is used to take heated water from a heat source and mix it  with the return water from the underfloor system to the correct design temperature.  Where the heat source can provide the right temperature by itself e.g. a low temperature boiler, then a T3 control set is not needed.

Mixing water to the design temperature can be achieved either by using a thermostatic mixing valve to give a ‘fixed’ temperature or a motorised valve which can give either a ‘fixed’ or ‘variable’ temperature. The Emmeti range has two thermostatic and two motorised mixing valves in the range.

Designed specially for the underfloor heating market, the control set incorporates a compact thermostatic mixing valve and pump set arrangement compatible with type 2 (T2) Topway manifolds at 210mm ctrs.with 1” M manifold connections with o-ring sealing and 1”M connections for the primary flow and return to the control set.

The set includes as standard a  temperature gauge measuring the mixed flow temperature and a supporting bracket to stabilise the extra weight of the pump The valve and fittings are finished in nickel plate to match the Topway manifold.

Using a similar specification to the control set immediately above, the thermostatic mixing valve incorporates a thermal actuator which, when de-energised, shuts off the flow of hot water through it to the underfloor heating manifold.  The actuator incorporates an auxiliary switch to operate other equipment e.g. boilers. This enables the control set to be used in four different applications:

1. Isolation of the manifold when the pump and valve are de-energised
2. Where an additional level of temperature control is required to ensure that a maximum floor temperature is not exceeded. This requires a suitable safety thermostat – see page 33 for details.
3. Single zone applications where a minimum water temperature is required to switch the zone on. This also requires a suitable thermostat.
4. Single zone applications where the actuator auxiliary switch energises the boiler and primary pump in conjunction with an existing controls system for heating and hot water

Control set with motorised mixing valve and pump – U9700040

Designed for applications where both a higher flow and flexible control of water temperature is required.  This allows the control set to be used with a range of temperature control options.

These include a motorised head with an integrated temperature setting and dwell time facility, complete with a remote flow temperature sensor, code U9 750 020. Code U9 750 030 provides a full weather compensation package included below.

Control set with motorised mixing valve and pump – U9700050

Identical in concept to the motorised mixing valve arrangement above, the valve used has a higher Kv designed for higher throughputs suitable for larger applications.
